Bernardo Trindade held public functions, first as a Member of Parliament in the Legislative Assembly of Madeira, between 2000 and 2005 and then as Secretary of State of Tourism in the XVI and XVII Constitutional Governments between 2005 and 2011.
With a degree in Business Organisation and Management from ISG - Business and Economic School, Bernardo Trindade is now Director of the PortoBay Hotels & Resorts Group, a Portuguese group born on the island of Madeira with 15 hotels in different geographies (Madeira, Lisbon, Algarve, Porto and Brazil) currently employing 1060 employees.
Between April 2017 and December 2019, he was appointed by the Prime Minister of Portugal, as Chairman of the Executive Committee of Portugal IN, a temporary mission framework created by the Portuguese government to attract foreign direct investment within the framework of Brexit.
Between June 2017 and June 2021, he was appointed non-executive director of TAP Air Portugal.
Bernardo Trindade is also connected to the associative sector in the area of tourism, having been elected president of AHP - Associação de Hotelaria de Portugal on 22.04.22 for the 2022-2024 mandate.
As a result of his career, he was distinguished by His Excellency the President of the Portuguese Republic as "Grand Officer of the Order of Infante D. Henrique".
