Vítor Bento, 65 years old, graduated in Economics by ISEG-Lisbon School of Economics and Management, with a Master degree in Philosophy from Portuguese Catholic University and in a process to conclude a PhD in Strategic Studies by the University of Lisbon. Certified by INSEAD in Corporate Governance, having concluded International Directors Program (IDP19) and Leading from the Chair Course.
Chairman (and former CEO) of SIBS (Payments Processor and Payments Networks Manager); Chairman of ECPA (European Card Payments Association); Adviser to Semapa (Pulp, Paper and Cements) and Gulbenkian Foundation; member of the General Council of the Portuguese Institute of Corporate Governance. Previously: NED at Galp and PT prime, Head of International Department at the Portuguese Central Bank, General Director of the Treasury, Founder and CEO of the Government Debt Management Office, member of the European Monetary Committee, Executive Director of Macao’s Monetary Authority and several other management positions in the private sector. Taught Economics and Finance in several Portuguese Universities and published several books about the portuguese and european economies.
